Why Mother’s Know More…

Dads are wonderful…but Moms always know more. Why? Because we do everything!

When I was little I was always amazed at how my mom knew where everything was. Lost socks…ask mom! No idea where you put your car keys – ask mom! Clean towels – ask Mom!

I really never quite understood how my mom knew where everything was…but now that I am a mom I know! It is because we are the ones that put everything away. We “see” a mess and put everything in it’s rightful place. We “see” an accident or situation about to occur and we approach and correct it before it happens.

When you become a mom your eyes, ears and mind work independently of each other. You can be cooking and hear your child whimpering upstairs. You think “outside of the box” when it comes to games, ideas and problems if it concerns your little ones. When I read this hilarious email (below) that a sweet friend sent me it reminded me of all the things that moms “See” and dads just don’t.

Not because Dads are less then moms…they just aren’t moms! Read, enjoy and laugh!

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me and my brother who is four years older than I am. I was maybe 3 and a half years old and had just recovered from an accident in which my arm had been broken.

Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news and my brother was playing nearby in the living room when I brought Daddy a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!!’

My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up, then she says to him, ‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet??’
